New Year's Eve in Athens

Happy New Year!  We didn't have any big plans for the night. New Year's Eve is a big family affair.  Being in Athens to celebrate is memorable in itself.  Here are a few highlights:

Supper outdoors at a popular Taverna. (Clara likes octopus):

Light show at midnight (it was pretty cool but my phone isn't good enough to capture it)

A picture Clara took of one of the fireworks. They were going off at random throughout the city.

The whole city is decorated

Walking around the plaka with the young revellers

At some big square with the people

Clara feeding cats with leftovers from one of our meals (there are cats everywhere in Greece)

We are excited about getting to sleep all day tomorrow. Opa!
